Allied Healthcare – our history
Founded as a home nursing service in England in1974, “Allied Medicare” (as it was then known) quickly grew to provide flexible care and nursing recruitment solutions to meet healthcare industry staffing demands throughout the UK. Allied later embarked on a program of expansion through the establishment and acquisition of new businesses to improve its geographical reach, diversify its customer base and add breadth to the services available. One of these acquisitions (Nightingale Nursing) included an established office in Sydney, thus providing Allied with its first overseas operation.
Since 1996 Nightingale Nursing Australia’s traditional business has been the supply of day to day agency nurses to Sydney based hospitals and aged care facilities, rural/remote contracts and permanent and sponsorship placements throughout Australia. We have developed a sound reputation for providing a friendly, efficient and highly professional service at a competitive price and are the first port of call for many of Sydney's healthcare facilities as well as nurses seeking regular casual shifts. Allied Healthcare - Community Support Services Division
Allied Healthcare entered the field of community support services by combining the expertise of its senior personnel with the reputation, systems and financial stability of its already well-established nursing agency business. Our two offices are supported by a central Head Office function and a tailored rostering and allocation system, guaranteeing users will receive a personal but superior service at all times. From worker availability, client bookings, time sheet processing and invoicing, Allied Healthcare’s highly sophisticated systems support the “human touch” of our Care Coordinators to ensure fast, accurate and appropriate matching throughout the supply process. Supplying care to the frail, elderly and disabled who live in their own homes, or in residential or assisted living facilities in the community, Allied Healthcare operates from two Sydney sites (Bondi Junction and North Ryde) with the division covering services to southern (south, east and inner-west) and northern (north, north west and west) territories 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
